The Book Report

The story begins as a widowed mouse and her children find out that
they must
leave their autumn home in Mr. Fitzgibbon’s garden for something that
comes every
year...Moving Day. This was when it became warm enough for Mr.
Fitzgibbon to plow
his field and all the animals living there had to move away. A
setback for Mrs. Frisby
was that her son had caught pneumonia a few days before and could not
go outside or he
would die. Mrs Frisby needed some help moving her house so she went
to see her good
friend Mr. Ages.
Mr. Ages was a mouse that had been injected with a chemical that
allowed him to
learn faster and have a longer lifespan so he was very good with
medicine. He gave her a
medicine to keep her son alive as long as he did not go outside. She
told him about her
current situation. His response was that she could go see the owl.
Along the way she
meets a crow named Jeremy that’s caught in some wire and realizes that
if she doesn’t
free him he will be killed by the cat, Dragon. She frees him and he
flies her to the owl.
He said she should go see the Rats of NIMH.
The rats were injected with the same chemical as Mr. Ages long ago in
a
chemical research facility. So they were very strong and smart. They
help her move her
house to a riverbank far enough from the garden that they could still
get food but were
they wouldn’t be disturbed by the plow. The scientists involved with
the chemical
injection into the rats finally catches up with them when Mr.
Fitzgibbon calls for an
exterminator. The rats make 2 escape routes to trick them so that
when they cover one
they can go out the other. They all made it except for one who was
killed by the poison
when he was trying to save 2 others. They moved to a valley far away
to start their own
civilization and to live without stealing.
