The stone building.
The two riders are now a fifty yards away. "Ho!" one of
them barks. The horses come to a stop a stone's throw from the
wheelbarrow. "There!" one of them points to the stone
building that you are now hiding in, "We will face them there
if they find us."
The one that gave the commands and seem to be incharge
dismounted and tied the reins of his horse to the saddle. The other
followed. "Hiigh Yaahh!", with a slap the first rider sent
both horses galloping down the street.
As teh riders aproach the inn, you hurridly duck behind the bar. From
there you watch the two men enter the building.
As they enter you notice that they are both warriors. The first was
clad in scaled steel armor and wearing a two slightly curved shieths
straped crosswise on his back. The second was in reinforced leather.
He carries a heavy crossbow over his right sholder and quiver of bolts
over his left.
They both wear steel helmets with green and purple plumes.
The second warrior steadies the swing doors as they pass through.
"Take possition there." the swordsman gestured to the
window. The archer shoved passed two sets of tables, carelessly
knocking over a few chairs, before reaching the window.
Crash! with a tinkle of broken glass, the bowman smashed the lower
pain in the window. He took the nearest chair and stratled it
backwards and swung his heavy crossbow up to rest ont he back of the
chair. He dew a bolt and slid it into place pulling back the bow
string until it clicked.
The first man took place by the swinging doors, standing in the
shadows to the left of the entrance way.
As silence settles on the room you can now make out the rumble of
horses off in the near distance. They are aproaching fast!
With a glance to the other, the man at the door holds up eight
fingers. The bowman nods. They wait.
You make a quick limp run to the stone building and dive through the
double doors. Glancing quickley arround you, you see that you are in
some kind of Inn. The crystal has cooled off a bit, but is still
warm, so you cautiously let it rest back on your chest as before.
