Sparx was feeling great. She was in love with a hedgehog named Psycho,
who was away at the moment. Sparx was walking with her friend Snowy.
"Snowy, how are you doin?" asked Sparx. "Fine, I guess.
I just miss mom and dad that's all." he mumbled. "I miss
them too," replied Sparx, "How about going to the MainLand
with me...who knows what lurks there..." she giggled. Snowy
agreed, and they ended up racing. Sparx was going so fast that she did
not notice the grey hedgehog in front of her..."Grey
hedgehog..oof!!!" She collided with him. "Of all the
inconsiderate things to do..." started the grey hedgehog.
"Yeah, well sorry...but you shoud've been looking where you were
running!" snapped Sparx. They looked at each other for a moment,
and Sparx asked, "Are you J.Axer???". "Yeah...how do
you know?" asked J.Axer. "Your brother told me all about
you. I'm Sparx, sorry about the confusion." said Sparx. "No
prob, it happens." Snowy landed, and told Sparx, "Sorry
Sparx, I forgot that I was supposed to meet Utah for some sort of guys
thing." he said, "Who's the hedgehog?" "Snowy,
this is J.Axer, Axer, this is Snowy." They shook hands, and Snowy
left. Sparx and Axer sat there, and Psycho ran up. "Nice to see
that you two have met..." he commented.
While J.Axer, Sparx and Psycho were talking, they heard a distant
rumbling beneath them. "Don't worry, " said Psy,
"probably just an underground stream!" "..As I was
saying," continued Sparx, "only guardians are able to glide,
I heard." "Onlyguardians?????" asked J.Axer. "Yes,
I was talking to Julie-Su who told me...which brings me to one
important question, why can glide?" The rumbling grew nearer,
Sparx started to get anxious. Then, all of a sudden, the ground
beneath them opened, and they fell into a dark hole. They fell
downwards. It was so dark that they couldn't see. When they were
finally able to see, they noticed that they were in an ancient mine.
They didn't have much time to look though, two energy tentacles
appeared and grabbed the furries. The first grabbed Psy, and the
other, Axer and Sparx. Psy and Sparx reached for each other and their
hands met. But they were soon ripped apart, and Psycho wwas hurled one
way, while J.Axer and Sparx another.
Axer and Sparx were put into a room. In the center of the room, an orb
was erected. Beside it, stood a plaque which said Touch the Orb, and
you may see what would happened if you had gone the other way..."
Sparx touched the orb, and she was brought back to the glade where she
and Roxy's family had dwelt. Instead of leaving to find her biological
family, she stayed. When Robotnik attacked, everyone was robotocized.
Sparx pulled her hands away from the orb. She fell backwards, but
J.Axer caught her. All of a sudden a door opened, and a shadowed
figure stood there. "How dare you touch the orb!!!" Instead
of eyes lurked blue fireballs. Then, everything started to spin, and
they were in front of Sparx's hut. Standing beside Sparx were Axer and
Psycho, both looking confused. In front of Sparx stood an older
echidna. "Who are you?" asked Sparx. "I am Athair, and
the Ancient Walkers sent me here to deliver a message to you."
replied Athair. "Ancient walkers--message--me???" asked
Sparx. "Yes, earlier you asked why you, like the guardians, can
glide. The answer is simple, the Ancient Walkers forsaw your meeting
with Knuckles, and for you to get to the Floating Island, you needed
to glide. There are also future needs for your powers that even I
cannot say!" And with a flash of bright light, he vanished!!!
For a moment, Sparx just stood there. Axer and Psycho thought that
they would leave her alone for a while. All of a sudden, Archimedes
appeared, and told Sparx to come with him.
In Haven, "Sabre, are you sure that it's wise to reveal our
existance to outsiders?" asked Tobor. "We won't reveal our
existance, we need the Island Freedom Fighters to protect the Island
while we examine Knuckles. I've contaced King Acorn posing as Sparx,
and he wants her and the IFF to meet him soon. Archimedes will take
care of everything else."
Elsewhere, Archimedes and Sparx. "What's the big deal,
Archy?" asked Sparx, somewhat miffed. "Like Knuckles, you
are going through adolescence, and you may develop certian powers due
to the intervention of the Ancient Walkers. Anyways, King Acorn wants
to make the IFF official, but he wants to meet with you and the other
members. I can easily take you there." And with that, they
reappeared in Sparx's hut. Snowy, Roxy, Cerebral, Utah and Ava looked
surprised to see that Sparx had just appeared out of nowhere.
"Guys, we need to get to Mobotropolis, King Acorn wants to make
us official!!!" Archy teleported the Island Freedom Fighters to
the palace and disappeared. Geoffrey St. John escorted them to the
throne room, where the king was waiting. "So, you six wish to
start your own Freedom Fighter group on the Floating Island. I agree
that it would be for the best, but I wish to pick out of you six, the
leader," He took the sword of Acorns, and called on Sparx.
"Sparx, I don you the leader of the Island Freedom Fighters, and
charge you and your friends with the protection of the Floating
Island." Sparx got up, and bowed before the king. She then went
beside her friends. "There is a feast in honor of the IFF in the
newly rebuilt courtyard" They all went, and dined like royaly.
