she finally answers
Barbara starts to flip out! "How did you not see that? She was
sitting in the window looking right at us...and you just let Doug walk
in there? We have to go find him."
"Whoa," you stammer while a mass of confusion takes over
your brain, "what woman in the window? No one lives here, you
must have imagined it." You say this to calm her down, while
pushing the horrible thoughts out of your head. You know you have to
go in and retrieve Doug, so there is no way you can let this get to
you at a time like this. "Come on, we have to go in and get him
home so we can continue our bike ride."
"I'm scared," Barbara admits, not helping you out, "but
i will come."
As the two of you walk in, you want to ask her what exactly she
thought she saw in the window...but decided it would be better to not
get scared now.
After a few moments of silence between the two of you, you repeat the
question to Barbara. "What is wrong?"
