The Haunted Castle -- page 19048
You consult your friends
You tremble and motion for your friends to get behind a bush. The boy
appears in the window again, and beckons for you to enter. You feel
uncomfortable and decide you had best go home. Just as you begin to
walk away, your friends following, you hear the boy crying. When you
look over the boy is looking out at you with tears in his eyes. He
continues to cry, and you can't help but feel pity for him.
"Let's just go!" Barbara says to you, looking as pale as the
little boy. As frightened as you are, your curiosity continues to get
the better of you, just as curiosity killed the cat.
"You guys go on, I'm going to talk to the boy." You say, but
your friends refuse to leave you.
"He's a ghost though!" Dave says pulling you away.
"Dave, there is no such thing as ghosts!" You say taking a
step closer to the door. Barbara begins to cry and is set on going
home.
"Alright, I'll go with you, but you owe me an ice-cream
sunday!" Dave says without a smile.
"Deal!" You say, relieved to have a companion, if not glad
to be rid of the sobbing Barbara.
So with Dave behind you, the two of you venture to open the front
door. The little boy is no longer crying, but stares at you from the
window.
Opening the door, you and Dave step into the house. You enter into a
large room with only a dining table to furnish it, and look over to
see the boy. He smiles at you, and you walk over to
him.
