"Yeah, right!" the girl says. "What are you really up
to? Something about that trial, I bet."
"What trial?" you ask, shocked. How could the news have
gotten around school so fast?
"You know--about Anderson. Ms. Fishburn agreed to do some crazy
American trial by jury thing to prove whether or not he started that
fire."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah--and I know what really happened, so you teacher's pets
better look out!"
You know that whatever this girl says at the trial will be a bunch of
lies, but what should you do?
"We're on an errand," you say. "A mission of mercy.
Someone who lives near this school is dreadfully ill, but we can't get
medicine to her because she has cruel relatives who won't allow
it."
