"I'm going to give you to the count of three," Ms. Fishburn
says through her teeth, "to get out of here. If you do not leave,
I will..." But she can't seem to think of anything, which you
think is a good sign.
"One...two...three!"
No one leaves.
"Playing hardball, are we? All right--Jensen!" Ms. Fishburn
calls to the school's butler. "Take all three of these girls to
the attic, and make an announcement that they are servants here, not
students. Make sure that they are treated harshly..."
"That's borderline torture!" Nurse Johnson gasps.
"Matilda, I'll call the police..." Mr. Anderson begins. That
seems to work--Ms. Fishburn nixes the whole servant thing with one
wave of her hand to the butler. But she also says,
"If you do not leave NOW, all of these students will be
immediately expelled..."
"One, two, three, four, we won't take it anymore!" you
suddenly yell, having had an inspiration.
"Five, six, seven, eight, this injustice we all hate!"
Bridget and Rosa add together.
"Fishburn gives us heartburn!" Bridget adds daringly.
Suddenly, the protest is cut short, as screams and running footsteps
are heard...people are evacuating the school. So
you...
You're not sure if this person is telling the truth or trying to cause
a ruckus, so you stay where you are, staring the headmistress down.
