get much further cooperating with us."
"Is that a threat, Miss?"
"No," says Larken, "just some friendly advice."
"Come on, mister, knock off the jerk business and take the
money!" adds the bold Rosa.
"Deputy Dashwood!" calls the policemen. "Escort these
girls off the premesis presently and immediately!"
Outside, the three of you groan. Now what will you
do?
"Excuse me," you say determinedly, "but I heard it
quite clearly...the only crime for which bail is not acceptable is
murder. The man we have come to help was not charged with that crime,
so we ask--no, demand--that you take our money."
