"I'm trust YOU to leave our case alone, or else I will personally
go and report to Sherwood that you're doing far too much of what is
rightfully ours -"
Morris sneered, but you saw something change in his eyes. With a
glance in the other direction, he wrinkled his nose and brushed past
you roughly, the scent of rich cologne apparent in the air even after
he'd left the room.
"Disgusting," Clyde commented, glaring after him.
"Well, that's got him out from under our feet," you replied,
feeling glad that Morris wasn't too hard to make go away.
Suddenly, there was a little flicker of lights and a gasp as the lamps
above you all blew simutaneously.
"This is exactly what happened when the thief came in!" Mrs
DeLyon screamed from across the hall.
There was a buzz of uncertain whispers from everyone, including the
crew from you and Clyde's office.
"Let's go," Clyde whispered in your ear. "I have a
feeling the thief might try to get away with stealing something else.
He's awfully stupid, isn't he?"
"He's not stupid, he just thinks WE are," you replied
angrily. "I won't let him get away with this."
And, without another word, you entered the staircase on the left and
Clyde on the right, towards the other rooms full of priceless
artefacts....
"Excuse me!" you barked, shoving Clyde aside. He gave you a
slightly doleful look, a hand holding his side.
