"My mother," You reply tartly, "and we're the only
living things alive."
Karry's eyes went wide when you said that, and she took a moment to
straighten up. You glance at her to see if she was ok, but she waves
you off and stands up. Then she asks, "How?"
"Humanity was destroyed six years ago, that's how."
The answer came from the creature, his luminous eyes looking at you.
"And you were the cause because you were so beautiful, and still
am."
Your mother steps up and says, "Say what you will, creature, but
you will not take Katalina or Karry away from me again. Ever."
The creature says, "They must come with
me."
The creature was a massive, giant of a thing, its head bent low to let
off its passenger. The creature's head was severely crusted, and it
look reptile-like. Karry was human, with reddish black hair and the
most unique face that you had ever seen. Her eyes were green and
suggested that whatever she talked about was important, although, from
what you remember of your friend, she was not even serious to consider
getting braces or not. She looks from you to your mother, then nods.
She comes over, looks you straight in the eye, and says, "Hello,
Katalina. Who is that?"
