I took by bow, loaded the arrow and shot at the bear. Oh no! I
missed and the bear is really mad at me. He looks, then starts toward
me growling and "bearing" his teeth. Quickly I grab another
arrow from the quiver. I pull back and shoot just the the bear swipes
at me with his powerful claws. One arrow in the heart, a bear rug for
the teepee and claws around my neck.
Another successful hunting trip. Now its back to the village to
celebrate.
First we hunted for the bears, big black grizzley bears. I was the
first to notice the paw prints in the sand by the stream. Instantly I
found a bear catching fish in the stream. Boy was I ready to get him,
a bear rug for my teepee would sure be nice, I thought. And the bear
claws would look great around my neck.
