try desperately to communicate
You try to speak, but instead, you bark like a dog. Oh yeah, you
forgot about that. She looks up and barks back softly. You sigh
unhappily, unable to understand. Then, she smiles unexpectadley and
says, in english, "So you are a foreigner." You nod
enthusiastically, thrilled that you can communticate at least halfway
with someone. "Well," she says, "I'm sure you are
rather desperate for help right now, so i will give it too you. Put
this around your neck" She holds out a beautiful gem on a golden
chain. It is the deepest, most beautiful shade of blue you have ever
seen. "Thank you," you say automatically. "Hey, my
voice is back!!" The woman simply smiles. Only then do you
notice the stone around her neck, only a gorgeous shade of red rather
