Ask him to explain about his girlfriend
He stammers.
"We have been together for about two weeks. She stayed the night
at my place, and we went out for dinner last night, and then we went
to the beach to meet some friends. It was harmless fun, really! We
went to the park, but we never intended that we would see a
homeless-looking guy. He started yelling abuse at us, we could tell he
was drunk. Screaming for a cop, he started chasing us down the road,
until we reached my house. Then he stood outside, waiting for us until
early this morning, when some other random bystander was caught by
him."
