You choose the richest wife
After all, she DOES have the most money. Not very pretty, but when you
want to go to bed the candles are low anyway. But, unfortunatly, after
a while the money runs out and the candles just don't cut it anymore.
So that you can get a new wife you hire a knight to cause your wife to
commit adultry, giving you reason to behead her. Now you have full
reign over the maidens of the land, having a new one each
night.
