Fall in love
One day while looking for food you notice your magic wand sitting beside a tree that you'd abandoned before you became an armadillo. Remembering everything about before you were an armadillo you magically transport yourself back into humanoid shape. Finding the armadillo that you love you find out that you two would never be compatable. After having this thought you kill her and roast her for dinner. You decide to spare your six children though.
You go back in time and learn everything there is to know about being a wizard. But one of the things you learn is to change your shape and coloring of your skin magically. You decide you want to try to be an armadillo. You magically transform yourself into one and meet a beautiful female armadillo. You fall in love with her and have 6 children. You forget all about your quest to be a wizard and the haunted castle.
