You look at the shiny piece of metal that you hold in your hand. It is
bluish brown and has red swirls spinning around in it. The piece seems
to glow in your hand. Your fingertips get warm and tingly. In an
instant, you drop it.
Probably some old piece of junk, you think as you walk away. But the
metal attracts you like a magnet, calling to you in a hushed
voice,"Come back, come back." You trot back and pick it up.
You think of all the historic places you can go. You can see General
Custer. You could go back to colonial times. You could even see the
dinosaurs! You get dizzy just thinking about it.
Well, now you know the thing works. Where should you go?
You are walking down the brick path near your house. On the sidewalk
you see a shiny piece of metal. It is very old and rusted around the
edges. You pick up the moldy object. On the front engraved in the
weird metal is a message: "A ticket to the past. Hold this and
wish and you will go back in time. But, beware, time traveler, for
there are dangers ahead."
