Wish for an adventure
"I want an adventure," you tell the unicorn princess.
"Like the NeverEnding Story or Harry Potter."
She smiles. "Then you have come to the right place. I offer you a
quest, as you seem very brave. I come from a land plagued by a
mysterious monster who is slowly draining everything that is beautiful
and joyous from the land. The sun has gone away, and there is only
darkness. The people are forgetting how to laugh. Please help us find
a way to get rid of the monster."
You pause. "Well, I'm just a normal kid, so I don't have much to
fight a monster with."
"Not to worry." The princess gestures. "To aid you in
the quest, I will give you a gift. This power will serve you when you
need it most."
"What is it?" you wonder.
"When the time is right, you will find out." She waves her
hand and a portal appears beside her. "Do you accept the
quest?"
You nod firmly. "I do." And you step through the portal.
"Good luck to you, brave mortal," the princess calls.
You think carefully about your wish. After all, one doesn't get many
wishes from unicorns. This is all very exciting, a lot like movies
you've seen before. That's when you realize that you would like to
have a grand adventure just like a movie.
