"Er...... are you alright?" a male voice asked uncertainly.
You pretend to dry your face on the sleeve of your robes, and look up.
It was a guy about your age, whose robes were much fancier than yours.
Judging by his appearance, he looked like someone from a wealthy,
respectable family. He was also quite cute.
"I'm - I'm ok," you muttered, going red again.
"Is anything wrong?"
"Um...... I twisted my ankle," you lied, making up a reason
for him to stay wih you. "I accidentally fell over while I was
fighting with that other boy."
"Did he steal something off you?"
"No, it - it was a mistake," you said, clutching your ankle
in a convincing way. He looked worried, and stretched out his hand to
help you up. You took it awkwardly, but as you straightened up you
gave a cry and crumpled to the floor again.
"I can't walk!" you said in a devastated voice.
"Here, don't worry," the guy said. "Come into my
carriage. I'll take you to the dai fu."
He helped you into his splendid red and gold carriage, and took you
around the corner to a little shop that smelt of tea and herbs. As an
elderly man was examining your ankle, he smiled.
"So, what is your name?" he asked. "I never found
out."
"It's - uh - "
Suddenly, you heard someone stopping in front of you.
