You and Kerri agree to look around a little--you want to know for sure
that there isn't anything in the immediate area that could be very
dangerous. You light your flashlight and head into the nearest stand
of dogwoods, and the eerie howl of the dogs overhead chills your
blood. You shine a beam directly overhead, and notice that the moon
isn't as white on this planet as it is on ours; it's bluer. Suddenly,
you hear a crinkling sound in the fur-like foliage underfoot . . . .
