Until, that is, you spent the night at Mary Lou's.
Mary Lou was a new girl at your school. She had blonde hair tied to
the sides in two pigtails, braces, and dimples when she smiled. She
loved mini-skirts, make-up, and shopping. Everyone at your school
hated her as soon as they saw her and referred to her as "the
snob." No one spoke to her. No one cared about her. You all
ignored her, and forgot about her.
Then, Mary Lou decided to throw herself a welcoming party and you,
along with all of your friends, were invited. Your mother, of course,
encouraged you to go, and rather reluctantly, you went to her party.
You never used to be afraid of the dark. In fact, you never feared
anything.
