Go to a rock concert
You see a poster advertising a huge free rock concert, with the
Rolling Stones as the headliners! It's a week from now at San
Francisco. You ask Jane if she is going. "Are you asking me out
on a date?" she says. "No, I just wanted to know if you're
going," you say. She looks disappointed but says she is going,
with a bunch of her friends, and asks if you want to join them. You
say yes with so much enthusiasm that Jane asks you if you're sure you
don't want to make it a date. "I don't like you like that, I
just like you as a friend," you say, even though you secretly
think she's really cute.
