"There's something fishy about that all right," Bridget
says. "I'm thinking that whoever's behind this only wants to keep
the school open so they can do the students and servants more
harm."
"But that would mean this is more than a senior girl crime
ring," you say. "Do you think one of the teachers is
involved?"
"My money's on Mrs. Kent or Ms. Fishburn," Rosa contradicts.
"Mrs. Kent's been up to something the whole time, and with Fish
Breath's attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if she was pulling
something."
"OK, then we better split up and do some spying," says
Bridget. "Maria, stay on the senior girl track--look for more
passages and keep your ears open for any information they give. Rosa,
you make the best grades of any of us in all the classes--you might be
the best at garnering information from teachers. I'll start the
investigation in the kitchen with Mrs. Kent, and then I'll check out
the headmistress if I need to."
Agreeing with Bridget, you all split up, planning to meet in her room
that night at seven to compare notes. But at seven-thirty, Bridget
still hasn't shown up. What do you do?
With information this valuable, you know you have to alert Bridget and
Rosa, so you sneak out of the secret room and find them, explaining
what you know.
