Escape
They ran through a thick door, and Trabb stopped and shut it, blasting
the controls to lock it. Rayna glanced to a window and peered out. The
hanger was right next door, and Trabb's Outrider was fairly close.
"Come on," Rayna said, "the ship is just over
there."
When they reached a door to the hanger, they saw several officers
walking toward the Outrider. Trabb immeadiately broke into a run
straight at the officers just as they were almost to the ship. He
yelled wildly and fired his blaster at them as he ran. The officers
were caught off guard, and instinctively ran away, running for the
nearest cover. Rayna made a run for the ship, still watching this
crazy sight of one man chasing two fully trained officers. As Rayna
ran up the ramp, she saw the officers dive behind barrels and realize
that there was only one man chasing them and not an army. As they
opened fire on him, Trabb changed direction and dived into his ship,
closing the ramp behind him.
Rayna and Trabb turned and ran, looking back over their shoulders at
the pursuing guards, firing their blasters as they ran. Rayna had
never used a blaster before, but she leared fast. She had never been
so terrified in her whole life.
