Lilo, Victoria, and Pwing were the only non-Experiments present. Pwing
had been
pre-assigned as the Leader. She had the responisbility of opening each
meeting and
keeping the Experiments in line.
Pwing lept up on top of a rock in the center of the cave. The others
took their seats
around the rock, leaving a wide circle around it.
Lilo adjusted the earphone-and-microphone headset on her head as she
sat down
between Stitch and Victoria. Both she and Victoria had the bright-blue
headsets.
Those headsets would not only translate Ohanan into English for them,
but would
also translate anything Lilo or Victoria said into Ohanan.
At that moment, Pwing spoke. Although all the words were spoken in
Ohanan, I shall
translate them for you, for I don't think you understand Ohanan.
"It is time for the Law," Pwing announced, "The Law
shall be used when the
Meetings take place, and must be followed at all times during a
Meeting."
"The Law is this," she continued, "During a Meeting,
there shall be no fighting
between Experiments. Even though some of us--" (here she looked
to 625, then
quickly turned away) "--have questionable accomplices, we must
put aside all
differences and accept each other as a whole. Regardless of what they
have done in
the past."
There was a dead pause. Lilo knew that Pwing was probably speaking of
herself,
when she had tried to wipe out the Experiments, starting with the 600
series. Then
again, she could be speaking of Angel, who had betrayed several
Experiments--including Stitch--and nearly had them captured and forced
into slavery.
Lilo and Stitch had forgiven them, but what about the other
Experiments?
"That is the Law," Pwing finally said, "It is but one
rule, but it is an important one.
Now, on ot more important matters: Donor Two--better known as
Kaian--has landed
in an unknown location, and is probably going to try to wipe out all
Experiments."
"How is he going to do that?" demanded Yang, a lava
Experiment.
"I do not know," admitted Pwing, "But he will do it any
way he can. And we must be
prepared to stop him, no matter what his plans are."
"Which of us has the most in common with him?" Richter, the
earthquake-maker,
asked.
Pwing was silent for awhile, then replied, "Kaian is an
Electricity elemental. There is
only one of us who is also electric."
Everyone turned to Sparky, who sat across from Lilo. He fidgeted
nervously for a
second, then growled at everyone. "We may be the same element,
but that is all."
"I don't know, Sparks," sighed Pwing, "You have a bit
of his shyness, as well."
Sparky blushed. He always did when Pwing called him Sparks. Strangely
enough,
though, if anyone else called him that, he would electrocute them.
Pwing continued with the meeting. "We should all go home and
rest. But do not sleep
hard. Keep one eye and one ear open at all times. Because Kaian is out
there, and if
he catches you asleep, he will make sure you never awaken."
With that, the first Meeting ended.
The meeting was to be held in a cave near the dormant volcano. All of
the
Experiments that had been discovered were present, and all who had
come were
dressed in bright-orange jumpsuits.
