A Dog
The dog is friendly. In fact, the dog is sentient! Through a system of
'Yes and no' barks you quickly set up, you learn that this dog is
actually a kidnapped teenager who lived on a farm nearby. Seems the
dragon living in the caves didn't eat the people it kidnapped, it
changed them into animals!
Animals didn't chop down trees to make homes, they didn't turn cool
lush fields into cornfields, they didn't make ugly villages in lovely
valleys.
The teenager, whose name is Velus, insists on showing you where the
dragon sleeps so you can chop it's head off.
You breathe a sigh of relief. It is just a tiny dog. "Nothing to
be afraid of." You say aloud.
The dog appears to be friendly. Perhaps it would make a good
companion, you think. you bend over and try to make friends with the
dog.
