Go insane and blow the core away
Wasting no time, you grab the bazooka that popped out of nowhere and
point it at the core. The other man witnesses your actions and jumps
at you, trying to prevent you from destroying the core, and with it,
the ship.
The man tackles you, and tries to force the bazooka out of your hand.
"No! I must destroy the core while I am still temporarily
insane!" But the man knocks your bazooka out of your hand.
No matter. Another one appears out of nowhere and you point it at the
core. Before the man can even begin to advance toward you you pull
the trigger and watch the core explode in a bright orange flame. When
the smoke clears, neither the core or the man are left.
Suddenly you discover the consequences of your actions as the ship
begins to rip apart in flames around you. What happens next?

You were just looking at the core, watching it peacefully, minding
your own buisness, when all of a sudden you are overcome with the
strange temptation to blow the core away. That's when you realize you
must satisfy the temptation, before it kills you.
