On to Normandy
You open your eyes to the sound of a large explosion. "Keep your
heads down," someone shouts.
As you look around you notice that you are in some sort of boat filled
with dozens of other soldiers. Your friend Michael is holding a gold
cross in his hand and appears to be praying. You decide to interrupt
and ask what is going on.
Michael responds after giving you a look of disbelief. "What do
you mean," he says, "we've been prepared to liberate France
for months now."
You shoot a glance behind you and realize that your boat had left a
ship only minutes before. When you look at the direction your boat is
going you notice a large beach and beyond that a hill where many
German guns are pointed to try and stop the Allies from coming ashore.
