Shutting the door behind you, the old man leads you and Lisa to the
nearly hidden door in the tree's bark. He gives the door three slow
pounds and you are all made to wait about 30 seconds before you hear
an answer.
A slot slides open about eye level and a wrinkled pair of eyes behind
a thick pair of spectacles appears. A voice you presume to be
attached to the eyes intones in a strong, raspy voice, "Stop. Who
would cross into the Tree of Time must answer me these questions
three, ere the other side he see!"
The old man rolled his eyes and the little girl giggled, and you have
a hard time hiding your smirk. "Rose, that was only funny the
first thousand times. We've a visitor for you all. They want to hear
about the crash." Carter replied.
"Sure thing, kid." The old man easily springs out of his
seat and even opens your door before you can reach for the handle
yourself. Seeing your slight look of surprise, the old man only
chuckles.
