You whirl around, and are met with darkness. Strange, you think. I
could've sworn I heard something. You turn around and keep going.
Then a soft, kind voice whispers, this time near your ear, "You
are Calamyna, Queen of the Enyd. He--" you think the voice must
mean Edomiya--"was telling you lies when he said you were the
Princess of the Teladie."
You listen intently but keep walking. Perhaps the voice will continue.
"Calamyna," says the voice. It is sad now, sad and whispery
and gentle, and oh, so wistful. "You must get away from Edomiya,
as he means to murder you! Calamyna, PLEASE. For the sake of the
Enyd--"
Suddenly, the voice chokes and fades away into nothingness with the
words, "Calamyna, save us...please, Calmyna..."
Your heart wrenches terribly; it hurts awfully. For some reason you
think the voice must be true, and Edomiya is a liar and evil. But how
can you leave him when he has led you thus far? How can you choose?
Must you choose? It is hard to wrench away from this elf, that you
love so much, and to go to the Enyd, of whom you have been warned
about by the man you love.
You sigh audibly, and Edomiya turns to you and asks, "Adona? What
is wrong?" in a quiet, soothing voice. You feel a salty water
rising in your eyes, and blink to keep the tears from gushing out.
"Nothing," you say just as quietly and soothingly, and keep
walking musingly.
What should you do now? Your paths are laid before you, but do you
have enough sense to choose the right one? Or will you stray and face
the most deadly of consequences?
"You are full of long-buried dark secrets that need no
telling," whispers a melodious, gentle voice behind you.
