"Then have a good night, lady." the knight bows to you and
he almost seems slightly amused.
You follow Mrs. Cook to your room. She is a motherly looking woman
with a pleasant face and a rather plump build, in keeping with her
cooking skills. She fusses around the room like a mother hen, setting
out your night shirt, filling a bowl of water, setting out a comb,
stirring the fire. When she is convinced that you will be comfortable
for the night, she leaves, instructing you to call her if you need
anything. You thank her for the delicious meal she made and you both
say goodnight.
When Mrs. Cook is gone, you look around the room. It is warm and cozy,
with a bed layered high with blankets and comforters, a warm fire in
the fireplace, drapes covering the windows and tapestries the stone
walls. The furniture is made of dark wood, polished to a shine: a desk
and chair, a wardrobe, a toiletries table and mirror, a rocking chair
and two small sofas. One wall is made up of a large wooden bookcase.
It seems to be built into the wall, from floor to ceiling. All the
shelves are filled with books.
The mists have captured your imagination, you want to explore this
strange land. Going to your window you look out. The mists are not as
thick as when you arrived; you can see for a greater distance. Your
room is on the third story. The full moon rises displaying an uneven
land filled with rocks and hills, stunted trees and random groups of
mists that seem to rise from unknown water sources.
Do you...
You smile sweetly at him and say. "No thanks. I'm all set."
