"Hey, watch it!" you exclaim as the Brunhilda grabs your
arms and leads you down a dark hallway.
"Learn to cope, kid," says the woman. "Where you're
going, you're going to find a lot of things to be pretty rough. The
life you're stepping into ain't gonna be no cakewalk."
"What do you mean?" you ask.
"Well," says the woman. "Think about what it means to
be a healthy young man such as yourself. Then think about what it
means to be a little girl. Not necessarily bad, but part of your
punishment is going to be learning to adapt to such a massive
change."
At this point, you reach a small chamber with a chair that looks
suspiciously like an electric chair. You have become increasingly
nervous after hearing what this woman had said. As she straps him into
the chair, you wonder, "Will I be able to take on someone else's
life? Will I go insane? Will I hate being female?" You begin to
sweat, and say to the woman calibrating the machinery, "Please!
Make me a little boy instead! Or a eunuch! But please, not a little
girl!"
The woman smiles. "I could do that. Nobody would know. But the
fact is, nothing gives me more of a rush than the thought of a grown
man like you being trapped in the body of a young, prepubescent
female, with all the experiences of womanhood still ahead of her. My
heart races at the thought of you awakening in her body, realizing
that it's something you can't change. No, I think I'll make you an
eleven-year old girl. And now," she says, reaching for a lever,
"You become Alice, the brightest student in Mrs. Lunchalk's
fifth-grade class at Closter Elementary!" So saying, she flips
the switch and your world vanished, to be replaced by. . .
You realize that you are no match for these women. You don't really
feel that you deserve any of this, but then, you hadn't deserved to
find yourself beaten in a street, either.
