The unknown voice continues to whisper,"Broken mirror, broken
glass, shattered future, shattered past.." Over and over it
continues from one voice..suddenly, more voices join in, male and
female..ranging in different tones..sopranos, altos, and low
barotones. The whispers seemed so far off but now they seemed to be
coming closer, slowly at first. You wait a few seconds and the voices
seem much closer now, too close for your own comfort.
Not wanting to be there when the voices reach your current location,
you start walking forward into the darkness, hesitating a moment but
then moving on again, wanting to be in the dark rather than with the
mysterious voices.
The voices seem to be catching up to you and you start jogging instead
of walking, wanting so much to get away. All you can see as you jog
down the endless alleyway are faint outlines of discarded cardboard
boxes, hardly visible in the near complete darkness.
"BROKEN MIRROR, BROKEN GLASS, SHATTERED FUTURE, SHATTERED
PAST.." The voices start to get louder and seem to be coming from
right behind you. You start running and then hurriedly into a dead
sprint, having felt a hand..or something..on your shoulder. You can't
take it anymore. The voices are messing with your head and you don't
want them here with you. All you can think of is getting away and
escaping into silence.
Caught up in the thought of just getting away, you don't notice a
faintly visible figure a few yards up ahead. Before long, you're
almost in front of him, only a few feet away, still not paying
attention to anything but getting away, the voices still starting to
drive you insane. You finally notice the figure when you crash dead
into him and knock the both of you over, you landing on top of him and
out of nowhere, a streetlight it seems lights up the alleyway. You
look down at the face of the one you just crashed into and
see..
You look around the dirty, grungy, old alleyway where you're standing,
searching the walls for a window where someone may he hiding,
whispering those words. The crimson bricks walls seem neverending and
you see neither an exit or an entrance to the alleyway you're in. You
can only see about 8 yards in front or back of you, farther than that
is just an seemingly neverending darkness.
