Suddenly, out of the bushes on their left there burst a company of
skull-helmeted soldiers! Sraight at Zena and Heracles they rode, with
spears leveled and swords hissing from their
sheaths.
Now once, as the tale goes, Zena and Heracles were riding towards the
sacred oracle at Delphi, for they had seen portents of dread in the
heavens and sought the wisdom of Apollo's priestesses to learn what
they forecast.
