Officer Harold Rothwax, an old friend, is searching as you arive.
"What have you found?" you ask him. "We found a pool of
blood. The lab guys took a sample," Rothwax said,"If there's
a match, we'll have found our thief." Then Jenny leaped out of
your arms, Point under the case, and meowed. You peer under it as you
pick your cat up.
You stop as you see a glistning. "I think the blood's fake,"
you say. "A red herring?" "No," you answer and
pick up a fish with a gapping cut in it's stomach. "I belive it's
a baby lemon shark."
"Why did she kill the shark?" Harold wondered. "Mabye
he threatened to turn her in because he wasn't getting a fair share of
the money," you say sarcasticly," And how do you know it's a
she?" "Well, actually we don't, but a wittness saw a preson
in woman's clothes run out with the dimond, so we think it's a
she."
You go to the sene of the crime to find more evidence. It was sent
to the local museum on loan from the Smithonian. You take along your
blue-grey cat, Jenny. She was a valuable helper in other cases.
