Chase her!
The fact is, you don't care what this Shanta guy does to the elf. You
hardly know her. All you know is that if you are going to survive in
this strange place, you'll need some dough. And the only source you
know just kicked you in the crotch and ran off. So, ignoring the pain,
you run after her. You see a sign while running:
"Bring any rebelious peoples, elfs, or ogres to me for a handsome
reward!
- Shanta"
Aha! So there is a reward. You sprint even faster now. The elf knows
this town well, however. She takes narrow paths, goes down side
alleys, and even scrambles onto rooftops. Still you perservere.
While on top of one of the roofs of the buildings, you have an evil
idea. You call out to the elf-girl:
"Hey! Come back! I only want to ask you some questions about this
rebellion!"
The plan works perfectly. The elf turns back to look at you, but does
not stop running. Therefore, she does not see the alley-gap between
two buildings until she is plummeting down it.
Sweating with excitement (not to mention exhaustion), you jump down
after her. You find her laying on the ground, looking as if she has
sprained many limbs. you start tearing off strips of your shirt to
bind and gag her with.
"Please, you don't understand..." she manages to choke out.
She looks up at you with her black, beautiful eyes. All you see is
moneybags.
Should you listen to her, or bind her up and take her to this Shanta
character?
You have no money. No provisions. And you can't remember a thing from
beyond 5 minutes ago. Then this elf shows up and says " Hey, I'm
a member of a rebellion. Turn me in to Shanta, and you'll get a huge
reward. But please don't do that."
