Your eyes adjust to the dim light that show a musty-smelling room,
empty except for an old desk, parchment scattered all over the dark
wood.
You falter as the stout woman behind the desk gives you a sharp
no-nonsense look. You force a smile and stutter, "G-Good morning,
ma'am." She nods briskly, and begins shoving some of the
parchment into a drawer behind her desk.
She turns back, and gives you a hard stare. "Speak, lad. I
haven't got time for nonsense. Any clever mortal would see that."
You cast your eyes downwards," I was wondering... Ma'am, I wanted
to know...I wanted to know where I am. What village is
this...and...might you know who I am?"
Seeing the angry look on the woman's face, you begin again. "I
meant...could you please tell me where I am, Ma'am?" She blinks
at you and says shortly, "Floorie Bank, Toigne Road,
Karbor."
You thank her and hurry out of the bank, hearing her call after you,
"And next time you want an address, you don't walk into my bank,
you dirty thing. Asking someone if they know who you are, as if you do
not! I don't know whta you're playing at, boy..."
After that, you feel people here aren't all too friendly, so you
decide to find maybe an inn to stay at, though you know you haven't
got a cent to pay...
Your gaze stops at the large wooden building which looked somewhat
like a bank. You hesitate, and walk slowly up the stained steps to the
creaky door. You reach out and turn the brass doorknob, letting the
door swing open by itself.
