"Ignore her," Sheila says. "She's gone senile, but I
don't have the heart to put her in a home, so I'm taking care of her
myself. You want to wash up?" You go into the bathroom and see
that it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in centuries, although the
rest of the trailer is fairly neat. You say you'll be fine. A
whippoorwill bird calls out from the forest and Sheila's mom starts
up. Then she looks directly at you and says, "Boy, I thought the
angels took you away."
Sheila gives her an annoyed look and says, "Mom, you don't know
this kid. She's a girl, even you should be able to see that. Please
try to behave in front of her." Then Sheila turns back to you
and says, "Okay, kid. Time to get you back to your family."
What do you tell her?
The woman tells you her name is Sheila. She pulls up to a big trailer
park where she lives in a trailer with her mother, a ninety year old
woman who is slowly going insane. "Bum bum bum bum bum",
the old woman whispers in a cracked voice. "Pretty fields and
blood, oh no, blood on the floor, Lester my dear take care of the
boy..."
