"Hey!" you hiss at her,"He insulted me, didn't you
hear?"
"I heard you...but I'm telling you; it's not good to pick a fight
or have anything to do with the police around here. It may include
arrest and executions..." and she yanked you down into the seat
opposite her.
"The best you can do is to go into the bathroom and tidy yourself
up a bit..." she adds, giving you a gentle push.
You sigh and head off to the rest room. While inside, you wet your
hands, and then run your hands through your hair, giving it a gelled
effect.
Then, you clean your face, and look down at your clothes, you rub off
some dirt, and after one last look at the mirror, you head outside
back to the table Janiera sits at.
As you see the waiter walking out of the kitchen, you hurry and settle
yourself into the seat, muttering quickly to Janiera, "How do I
look?"
She smiles and nods, which you guess is another way of saying,
"Fine."
The waiter approaches the table, and without looking at you, sets the
table, handling Janiera's dishes gingerly and yours roughly, and
clumsily, obviously on purpose. When he almost drops your bowl and
plate on the floor, you decide it's the last straw. You've had enough.
You bang your fist on the tabletop, making the dishes rattle, and
everyone stares at you. "I'd like a different waiter to serve us,
please. This one is on no account respectful or polite." you say,
positively fuming with rage.
The manager of the restaurant strides over to the table.
"What is the problem, may I ask...sir?"
"This waiter of yours", you say, gesturing to the waiter,
who was still standing proudly, and still holding your dishes.
"Has been insulting me since I came in. And now, as he sets the
table, he handles my dishes with intended roughness and purposefully
pretends to falter with my bowl and plate. I will not be treated like
this. Get me a different waiter at once...please."
The manager continues to stand there, moustache quivering. Eventually,
he says...
She curtsied after her short desperate words, and then grabbed your
arm, and didn't let go until after the waiter had entered the kitchen.
