"He insulted me!" you exclaim to Janiera once she's let go of you.
"I know, but you'll have to ignore it. I'm afraid that waiters who work in good restaurants have more right than boys around here.
And anyway, you really wouldn't want to get into trouble around here. It'll usually involve court and possible death. So just sit there, and glare if he does it again.
So much as I would like to tell him off for it as well, we both know quite well that it would be the stupidest thing to do." Janiera says to you under her breath.
You nod grimly, as the waiter arranges the spoons and forks onto your table, and hands two menus to you.
You pick it up stonily, and open it. You scan quickly through the meals, and then say in a pleasant voice.
"You, Janiera?"
"I would like to order a sweet and sour pork cutlet meal and a tropical cocktail, please." Janiera says to the waiter, handing the menu back.
The waiter scribbles it down into his notepad, and turns to you.
"One garlic damper and a light Victorian wine." you say, as the waiter snatches the menu out of your hand.
"Thank you kindly." you add icily.
He snorts and walks away.
Janiera sighs, and clasps her slim hands together in front of her. "I DID tell you not to get involved, didn't I?"
"I can't NOT get involved. I'm a man, and men have their responsiblities and one of those includes not chickening out when another man insults you, got it?" you ask, as you glance at her irritatedly.
" I AM paying for this meal, you know." Janiera says to you, with no hint of anger in her voice. "If you want to be violent here, then I'll leave immediately because it is definitely not fair, if I have to have a share in punishment as well, when you are the one commiting a violent act."
You glare at her, but keep quiet.
When the waiter brings the meals to you, you eat quickly, and you leave together.
"Well, where do you want to go? I'm afraid there's no room for you o stay in my tent, but i suppose I can pay for you to stay at an inn..." Janiera said, turning back to glance at you.
"That WOULD be appreciated, but I... don't want to... you know, have to use YOUR money."you say, looking embarrassed.
"Well, then you'll have to get a job. It's not too hard around here. Plenty of people want to employ more workers to their stores, so you won't have TOO much of a hard time if you decide to find a job. But I suppose you'll have to find one in the end anyway... I can't supply you with money forever!" Janiera said, with her head tilted to one side, thinking. You nod. "Where do I start?"
She said...
