"Why not? Why are you here anyway?" I asked.
"Yeah, your mom has been worried sick!! She has been crying
ever since we found out you were missing," said Dave.
"Alright, I'll tell you, but you have to swear you won't tell
anyone," Barbara said, still sobbing, "No, I don't think I
can tell you."
"Why not? You've been able to tell us anything ever since you
moved here!" I said, very disappointed.
"OK, fine! I was riding with you guys and I saw the haunted
castle. Since I'd never been there before, I thought I'd go take a
look. To tell you the truth, I was pretty mad you guys just ditched
me. Anyway, there is a witch who lives here. Not a witch with a black
hat and a broomstick, but a witch that does Voodoo and tells fortunes.
She does witchcraft and it's very creepy. I think she is possessed!
She won't let me out of the castle untill I agree to learn witchcraft
and worship the devil," she said.
"Why don't you just do it and act like you love the devil? I'm
sure she won't know," Dave said.
"But she will know. She can bring evil spirits into the room
and read your mind. Please you guys, don't tell anyone!" Barbara
said.
"We have to Barbara. It's for your own good!" I said. By
now, I was crying.
"She'll find out. I told you she can read minds!"
"Fine, if you don't want us to help you, we better go,"
Dave said.
"If you could help me, I would let you, but you can't,"
said Barbara, sobbing. "Bye guys. I hope I'll see you soon.
Maybe, if you can, you can sneak back here tonight."
