He was late again! The day before you had written him a note
saying that you had found some more clues about the jewel. (You had to
write him a letter because he would not let anyone in his office any
more.)
"So, do you have any suspects yet?" he asks you.
"A couple but I don't have any clues," you answer.
"Well who are they?"
"I have down here Mr. Pretty who is very lonley and selfish, Mrs.
Cleanser who as you know has always admired that jewel and..."
"Anyone who you weren't suspecting?" the mayor enterupted.
"No, why are you so interesed in that?" you answer.
"No particular reson," the mayor answered like he wasn't
sure with himself.
It was silent for a moment.
"Well I'm going to get to work," you said breaking the
silence.
"Great!" said the mayor.
When you got to the museum, you didn't see any clues. you found
nothing at the museum for the rest of the day. When you finally gave
up, you turned out the lights. You walked down the stair disapponted.
Then all of a sudden you tripped over something and fell on the cold,
dark floor. In front of you there was a crumbled up peice of paper.
You uncrumble it and read:
DEAR MR.MAYOR,
I HAVE A COUPLE OF THE MOST LIKELY SUSPECTS. PLEASE MEET ME
TOMORROW AT THE CITY HALL.
THANKYOU!
The MAYOR!
Your eyes widen. He had probably tripped on what ever it was that you
had tripped on, and when he did the note had fallen out of his pocket.
No wonder he was asking so many questions about the suspects. The
mayor had probably come to the museum earlier before he met you to
make sure there were no clues left that would give him away! YES!
You run back to the City Hall. I told the seratary everything.
"That must be why he wouldn't let anyone in his office," the
secratary exclaimed.
She gave me the key to his office. As I went in I saw the jewel on a
platform on his desk.
"AH HA!" you said loud and happy.
You grab the jewel and run all the way to the police station, (which
is right across the street.) The mayor was soon arrested and you
became the new museum security gaurd.
