A black, orb-shaped, droid watches the Jedi from afar. The soft
humming sound of its thrusters is too silent for the Jedi too hear. It
makes a few more calculations, before speeding away to a tall, dark
tower standing high above the clouds.
Mace Windu leads the other Jedi into the forest of Malastare, one hand
on the hilt of his lightsaber. The others glance around them, waiting
for any dark forces to penetrate their path. "Something's not
right here." Obi-Wan whispers. "I feel it too, its just up
ahead." Ka'aroan replied, staring off toward a bushel of thorns.
Darth Xanatos eyed the four Jedi through the trees, his body hidden by
a personal cloaking device. He smiled, bearing all his teeth that he
filed down to sharp points, Sith tattoos were scattered all over his
arms. Across from him, another apprentice of Lord Xarag's...they
called him Darth Malice. They switched off their cloaking devices,
but still crouched down behind the huge leaves of a tree.
The Jedi walked straight into a clearing, the ground nothing but dirt.
They were surrounded by endless acres of forest, vines snaked through
the trees, boulders blocked their path, and in front of them, was a
large wall of prickly thorns that neither of them wanted to be
introduced to. Mace Windu suddenly ignited his purple lightsaber and
raised it up, ready to strike at anything that moved toward him. The
other Jedi did as well. Qui-Gon and Ka'aroan covered the rear, while
Obi-Wan watched the sides. "Looks like we'll have to cut
through," Mace Windu said, pointing to the wall of thorns,
"Guard me from anything that might attack, they are near."
Obi-Wan stared at Mace for a second, "What's near?"
Suddenly, three sabers were heard switching on. From the trees, a red
blade was seen, its owner leaped out from the tree and landed in front
of Obi-Wan. The other squatted before Qui-Gon and Ka'aroan. Darth
Xanatos sneered at Obi-Wan, his single red lightsaber raised in front
of him. Obi-Wan began to get nervous, he'd never been in a battle
before, but he tried to calm down and let the Force guide him. Qui-Gon
and Ka'aroan stared down Darth Malice, who wielded two red
lightsabers. Malice glared back, sheer hatred in his eyes, he felt
the urge to attack and seconds later his blades were swinging wildy.
Xanatos finally had enough of the staring contest, and swung at
Obi-Wan, who ducked just in time.
Mace Windu was halfway through the thicket of thorns, he heard the
Jedi and Sith battling it out a few meters behind him, but he knew
they could go on without his help. He had to finish cutting through.
Darth Malice had been waiting for this moment, finally engaging a
Jedi, and to take two on at once was a bonus added to years of
training in the darkside of the Force. He fought with expertise and
finesse, at times he would glance over at Xanatos and discover that he
was having more problems then he did. He didn't care, he always knew
he was the strongest of the two, and joyfully looked forward to
killing all four Jedi.
Obi-Wan blocked off any attack made by the Sith in front of him. His
blue blade illuminating the trees around him. He took deep breaths,
trying not to use the darkside to win this battle. The Sith Lord
pressured him to do so, he could feel it. "Only your hatred can
destroy us!" And as quick as Obi-Wan's fight began, his chin was
met with a swift, hard kick with Xanatos' boot.
Qui-Gon was deeper into the woods then he expected, alongside him was
Darth Malice and Ka'aroan. The Sith warrior retreated deeper into the
woods to have a greater advantage, and his plan worked. Ka'aroan and
himself were separated from Mace and Obi-Wan. Still, the skillful
Dark Lord never let up on his attack.
Obi-Wan's blue blade and Xanatos's red blade locked together, the Jedi
and Sith stared at each other again. Obi-Wan had quickly recovered
from his fall, and continued well on into the fight. Xanatos flipped
over Obi-Wan, landing behind him, Obi-Wan thrust his lightsaber behind
him...he heard a surprised "Ugh!" from the Sith warrior on
his rear. He turned his head, and saw that Darth Xanatos was no more,
he pulled his lightsaber out from his limp body, Darth Xanatos
cluttered to the ground, the red lightsaber switched off. Obi-Wan
stood over his first kill of a Sith Lord and wondered if should go
help Mace Windu or try and find Qui-Gon and
Ka'aroan.....
Mace Windu halts and waits for the three Jedi to come to him. Sweat
pours from his head, and he takes deep breaths as he tries to rest,
but he knows there's not much time. Obi-Wan, Ka'aroan, and Qui-Gon
approach him after what seemed like an hour. "What is it that
troubles you, Master Windu?" Qui-Gon asks. "I sense a
disturbance in the Force, Master Qui-Gon, the darkside clouds my
vision, but I feel that something is on this planet that may
jeopardize our party." Windu responds. The Jedi before him nod in
agreement, fore they have felt it too....
