"You mean you will," Bridget contradicts. "I think I
should stay here and investigate the kitchen again, just to be sure
there's no evidence there."
"OK," you say.
"And don't worry," Rosa adds. "If anybody asks, I know
nothing."
"Thank you, Rosa...and you too, Bridget."
"No problem--now, hurry!" encourages Bridget.
When you reach the jail, a new policeman is behind the desk. You feed
him some corny story about needing the information for school--which
is sort of the truth--and ask him to show you the list of people in
the jail for arson. Unbelievably, the policeman buys that corny story
and shows you the list. You see only one name who might possibly be
Mr. Anderson--Oliver Darcy. Knowing Mr. Anderson's fondness for
classic literature, you wouldn't be surprised. Now, should you play
the hunch or not?
"OK," you say. "We'll go back, and then when we think
we have it figured out, we'll come back and get the necessary bail
money."
