"Hello, child." A woman's voice speaks. It's rough with age,
but soothing, healing, to hear.
"Wh-who are you? Where am I?" You manage to croak.
Another voice speaks, this one is a young child, a girl no older than
four, but she too has a calming voice. "We are the Fates." A
small emerald star appears beside the silver one.
"And this place," Now a young woman's silky voice, about 16,
you think."Is Destiny." A Sapphire blue star appears.
The stars swirl into one, and then burst open wide, flinging stars,
planets, nebulas, and comets to light the darkness.
Then, 12 pictures appear in the awesome display. There is a ram, a
bull, twins, a crab, a lion, a woman, a scale, a scorpion, a centaur
with a bow and arrows, a goat with a fish's tail, a man pouring a jug
of water, and two fish, attached by a rope. The voices speak in
unison, "Aries," the ram lights up,"Tauros," then
the bull,"Gemini," and the twins,"Cancer" the
crab,"Leo," the lion,"Virgo," the
woman,"Libra," the scale's turn,"Scorpio," the
scorpion,"Saggitarius," the armed centaur
now,"Capricorn," the strange goat lights
up,"Aquarius," the man now,"and Pisces. Choose one, and
live your next life. But be warned, you will be granted the power to
remember your last life, but the body you inhabit next may be in a
different dimension, and it is not even certain you will become a
human again. So choosecarefully!"
You always did have a hunch that reincarnation is real. So which one?
Aries, Tauros, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio,
Saggitarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, or Pisces?
You see black. Black all around you. In you, through you, enveloping
you, penetrating you. And memories come flooding back like a torrent.
The first tests. The diagnosis. The shock. The months in the hospital.
The chemotherapy. The tears. You remember the cancer. It was leukemia.
They promised you would get better. Whenever you saw your parents,
their eyes would be full of hope that you would live. But it got
worse. And now... Where are you? Is this death? It's so cold, empty.
You're all alone. But then, a silver light, like a beautiful star.
