Before you can say a word, the door flies open, and a great wind pulls
you forward...
You are underwater. Fighting for air, you powerfully kick your way to
the surface, gasping for oxygen. You are treading water in the middle
of a deep lake. The lake seems to go on for miles in all directions;
you can dimly see the shore a great distance away. It goes on in all
directions but one; just a few yards in front of you is a huge stone
cliff. A magnificent waterfall, rushing down this cliff, feeds your
endless lake.
You are tired of treading water by now, so you swim over to the cliff.
There seems to be do place to sit along its sheer walls, not even a
tiny handhold to rest on. Frustrated and tired, you notice that there
is indeed a perfectly sized stone ledge jutting out behind the
waterfall itself. Relieved you climb up on it and make yourself
comfortable. To your surprise, you notice that behind the waterfall
is a great tunnel.
Remembering promises of adventure, you hurry down the tunnel, which is
dimly lit here and there by hanging lanterns on the ceiling, too high
for you to reach.
After a good deal of walking, you come to a junction. The tunnel that
you were in forks into two. You can take the left fork or the right
fork, it’s your choice.
When you lay your hand upon the knob, the omnipotent voice again fills
the room. “You have chosen the Waterfall. A wise choice.”
