"Dave help me try to break this thing down, hurry!"
Both of you get a running start and slam your boddies against the
door. The door doesn't even budge.
"This is useless,"you say and turn to prepare for the ghost
to overtake you and Dave. "But I'm not going down without a
fight!" suddenly you hear,"click".
The door swings open. Dave rushes in dragging you behind him. He slams
the door shut with a bang, pulls out a key and locks it behind you.
"Dave where on earth.."
"Shhh," he whispers as he points to the keyhole he was just
looking through. You care fully put your eye up to the door. You can
see the ghost looking around the hall searching for you. She didn't
see where you had gone! When you ran around the corner she must have
lost sight of you. You stand up and put your back against the door.
Slowly you glance around the room. Surely the ghost will get to this
room sooner or later. Maybe while she looks in the others it will buy
you a little time to figure out what to do. This is a medium sized
room with a big long window that goes from the floor to the ceiling
against the right wall. It thankfully lets alot of light in the room.
You could see that the sun was setting outside. Suddenly fear sweeps
over you, we may be stuck here for the night. You push that though
aside to decide what to do about your more pressing problem. The room
looks like a study. There is a fireplace directly in front of you and
there are two large bookshelves set in the wall on either side of it.
There is a small wooden armchair and a little round table on the left
side of the room, which appear to be the only furnishings in the room.
No room to hide there.
Dave tiptoes to the other side of the room to look at the fireplace.
Meanwhile you check out the window. Maybe there is a ledge the you can
climb out on... As you get closer you notice that there are bars on
the window. Well there goes that idea, there is no way that you can
get through those bars.
"Hey Dave," you whisper maybe we can hide behind those
curtains, they go all the way to the floor."
"I got a better idea," he suggests. "Maybe we can climb
up the chimney. If Santa can do it why can't we?"
You smirk at him, " This is no time to joke around." He puts
one hand on the stone wall of the fireplace and leans against it to
think. Suddenly you hear a slow grinding noise. The fireplace starts
to swing open as if it were on hinges! Dave jumps back and stares into
the blackness of an opening behind the fireplace.
"That was pretty loud, it won't take long for that ghost to find
us now," you decied in horror. If we stay and hide behind the
curtain, maybe the ghost won't find us, but if we go into the opening
we have no idea what we are in for.
You make a break for the door grabing Dave by the arm. Oh no the door
is locked!!! Now what are you going to do??
