"What's wrong," Desdemonda muttered, "Why are you
crying? Why...ugh..."
Desdemonda started to feel a tremor in her body. She put the child
back in her crib, and then collasped to her knees. She clutched her
head and closed her eyes tightly. Something was wrong with her.
The dark side was consuming her.
"Desdemonda...do you feel that?"
Pleu woke up, feeling the presence of the dark side in his home. He
picked up his lightsaber and ran towards his family. "Desdemonda!
Rayna! You're in danger, the dark side is...with you..."
Pleu was right. The dark side was with them. The dark side was in
them.
"Desdemonda..."
Desdemonda's eyes glowed a dark gold. She bared her teeth and grinned
menacingly at her husband.
"What's wrong with you?" Pleu asked in alarm.
"Nothing," Desdemonda said, "But I must say...you're in
danger, my love."
She lunged at Pleu, tackling him to the floor. She clawed at him until
Pleu pushed her off.
"Desdemonda...you're under the control of the dark side! I don't
know how...but please...listen to me. Reject it. Deny it! It's going
to kill us all! Think of Rayna if no one else..."
Desdemonda tried to come back to her senses, but Desdemonda was now
gone. Evil stayed in its place.
"No...no...stop...ha ha...hahaha...hehehehehehaHAHAHAHA!"
Desdemonda summoned her lightsaber. The glowing green blade turned
into a sinister crimson. A supernatural force was causing all of this.
"You ask me to think of our daughter," Desdemonda cackled in
a deep tone, "But you don't understand. She's why I am here, Jedi
Knight! She's why I am free from the confines of the Jedi Order! Death
to the Republic! Death to the Jedi Power to the Dark Side and the
Sith!"
A fierce battle happened in that home. Eventually, Pleu was forced to
the ground. In the end, though, his fall gave him the opening he
needed to do the worst thing he'd ever do.
Before Desdemonda could lower her lightsaber to finish him off, Pleu
thrusted his blue blade into her stomach. His heart sank to the depths
of darkness...
Rayna woke up bawling in the middle of the night. Her screams were
uncontrollable, even in the arms of her nurturing mother.
