"But WHERE is Edmyom?" you persist.
"On Mount Cenyn. Edmyom is a village on Mount Cenyn."
Edomiya gets up too.
"Oh, but why is it dark?"
"It is night, of course," laughs Edomiya. "You are in
my garden."
"Garden? How are there corners in the garden?" You look at
him in distrust.
"How can I explain to you?" He rubs his fingers through his
hair in aggravation. "This place--it's like a greenhouse, you
know. Ah well, perhaps you have no memory of this place." He
takes your hand again, and again the current flows through your
fingers--but this time your sore back heals. "Let us go to my
home."
He leads you to a dark doorway. "My home," he says, turning
to you. "Wnyn ceyi," he cries in a loud, rich voice. A
brilliant blaze of white light bursts forth from the doorway. Along
the edge of the doorway words written in a strange, unfamiliar tongue
glow. "Come," Edomiya says, and enters.
The room is now dark, for the light has faded. Well, not COMPLETELY
dark, for in the corner there burns several candles that send a soft
yellowish light out into the room. But still, it is very hard to see.
Your eyes strain to even see Edomiya--all you see now is a dark,
shadow-like figure.
"Edmyom," says Edomiya, frowning. "I thought I told you
that already."
