The Pendant
Edomiya quickly takes your hand and walks into the forest with hasty
step. "This Forest," he begins, "IS evil, dark, and
sinister. But I know how to control the darkest, the most evil, and
most sinister of this Forest."
You feel confused as you ask, "You have great powers, then?"
"Great powers I have," smiles Edomiya, and then silently
touches the pendant hanging from a silvery strand around his neck.
You look at it closely.
It is beautiful, you think. It has to be elvish.
An engraving of a flower in fine silver, with strange little patterns
surrounding the flower. The strand is very thin and silvery.
It is dark now. You look around and shudder. The trees seem dark,
forebearing. You unvoluntarily scoot closer to your guide, who is
staring straight ahead, seemingly concentrating.
You seem a faint light near your guide. Strangely, it is the flower
pendant. It glows with a dim white light.
"All right," you say, still unsure but not knowing what else
you must do.
